Michael Young (leg) expects to play Thursday

Rangers designated hitter Michael Young said that he will play Thursday in the series finale against the Angels after tweaking his right hamstring in the ninth inning of the Rangers' 9-8 loss Wednesday.

He said that he slipped on second base after doubling with two outs, and was removed for pinch-runner Craig Gentry. Young's leg was wrapped in ice after the game.

"Had it been earlier in the game, I wouldn't have come out," Young said. "That was a big run, and I didn't want to take any chances."
