Rangers announce ALDS ticket opportunity

Fans can begin putting their names in a lottery-type selection process for Texas Rangers American League Division Series games.

The team announced specifics earlier today. Starting at noon on Tuesday and going through Friday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m., fans can register at the team's website for the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets for one of three possible 2011 ALDS games at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington./

A pool of randomly selected registrants will be chosen and provided access to an online pre-sale opportunity. Those selected will be notified no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The online ticket opportunity for those selected will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

There is no charge to register.

The Rangers are expected to make a very limited number of reserved seats, obstructed view seats and standing room only tickets available for the ALDS games for public sale beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. These tickets can be purchased at the team's website, on the phone at 972-RANGERS or in person at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Ticket prices range from $75 (lower box, Lexus Club Box Corner Box setas) to $60 (Lexus Club terrace; lower reserved) to $40 (upper home run porch; upper box; upper reserved; bleachers; grandstand reserved) to $25 (standing room only).

ALDS tickets will not be on sale at the Rangers Dallas and Fort Worth ticket offices.
