Hamburger, Kirkman sent to Arizona

Mark Hamburger and Michael Kirkman won't be on the Texas Rangers American League Division Series roster, as both were sent to the Arizona Instructional League to pitch in games. And right-hander Merkin Valdez has returned home to his native Dominican Republic.

That means right-handers Yoshinori Tateyama, Scott Feldman and Darren O'Day are the remaining candidates for the bullpen. If the team goes with a seven-man, one of those three would be in it. If the team goes with an eigth-man, two of the three would be in it.

Hamburger and Kirkman would be eligible to join the team in a later round, if they decided to go that route.

As of now, there are six locks for the bullpen -- Neftali Feliz, Mike Adams, Koji Uehara, Darren Oliver, Mike Gonzalez and the starter who goes to the 'pen, most likely Alexi Ogando.

Rosters are due by 9 a.m. CT Friday.
