Rangers to go with seven-man 'pen, add third catcher

Rangers  manager Ron Washington said he will go with a seven-man bullpen against the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series, and carry Matt Treanor on the roster as the third catcher.

Washington said Alexi Ogando would be in the bullpen. It appears that the seventh man in the bullpen would be Scott Feldman, joining right-handers Neftali Feliz, Mike Adams, Koji Uehara and left-handers Darren Oliver and Mike Gonzalez.

Treanor gives the Rangers flexibility to start both Yorvit Torrealba and Mike Napoli in the same lineup with one at designated hitter. It also gives Washington the opportunity to use a pinch-runner for Torrealba or Napoli in the late innings.

"Gives us versatility," Washington said.
