Rangers trade Taylor Teagarden to Baltimore

The Rangers stayed busy during an active week when they shipped catcher Taylor Teagarden to Baltimore for minor-league right-hander Randy Henry and a player to be named.

The move will allow Teagarden to become the backup to All-Star Matt Wieters and ensured that the Rangers would get something for a player they were likely to expose to waivers in spring training. Teagarden is out of options, and he likely wasn't going to make the Rangers' roster with Mike Napoli and Yorvit Torrealba ahead of him at catcher. For Teagarden to land at Triple A, he would have had to clear waivers.

Henry went 4-3 with a 2.22 ERA in 29 games last season at Class A.
