The Texas Rangers acquired infielder Brandon Snyder from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash on Tuesday.
Snyder, 25, has been in the Orioles organization his entire career after being their first round pick (13th overall) in the 2005 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Snyder has had stints with the Orioles the past two seasons, batting .273 in 16 games.
At Triple A Norfolk last season, he hit .261 with 14 home runs, 21 doubles and 71 RBIs in 114 games.
Snyder has been placed on Texas' 40-man roster, which now has 38 players.
The Rangers also announced they have re-signed infielder/outfielder Brad Nelson, who spent last season with Triple A Round Rock.
