Left-hander Doug Stetter and right-hander Sean Green, who both appeared on the Milwaukee Brewers' Opening Day roster last year, have agreed with the Rangers on minor-league contracts that include invitations to spring training.
Stetter, who has held left-handed hitters to a .194 batting average in his career, suffered left hip labrum irritation in May and missed the rest of the season. Green struggled early and was designated for assignment to Triple A Nashville, where he spent the rest of the season.
The Rangers have handed out 16 non-roster invitations so far this off-season.
Three who will be in spring training might first be in Tampa, Fla., for arbirtation hearings. Elvis Andrus (Feb. 9), Mike Napoli (Feb. 15) and Nelson Cruz (Feb. 17) learned when their cases will be heard if they are unable to work out a contract for 2012.
