The Texas Rangers signed two players to minor league deals on Monday -- left-hander Joe Beimel and first baseman/outfielder Conor Jackson. Each were invited to major league spring training.
Beimel, 34, went 1-1 with a 5.33 ERA in 35 relief outings with Pittsburgh last season. In his career, he is 24-32 with a 4.21 ERA.
Jackson, 29, hit .244 with five home runs, 17 doubles and 43 RBIs over 114 games last year with Oakland and Boston. He was the 19th overall pick by Arizona in the 2003 MLB First-Year Player Draft, and has a career .271 batting average.
Texas now has 58 players on its spring training roster.
