Friday morning from Surprise: Texas Rangers catcher Mike Napoli returns to lineup

Here are a few Texas Rangers notes from Friday morning at the Surprise Recreation Campus:

* Mike Napoli is back in the lineup today, as designated hitter. He isn't sure how many innings he will play. Napoli is working on an adjusted catching stance to see if he can put less strain on his groin. He won't play catcher for a few more days.

* Other injury news -- Utility infielder candidate Greg Miclat is out with symptoms consistent with a migraine. Right-handed prospect Justin Miller has lower back stiffness, and has not pitched in a few days. Catcher Dusty Brown threw to bases on Thursday, and is scheduled to travel with the team to Las Vegas this weekend. Left-hander Joe Beimel was sick on Thursday but returned Friday. He will pitch this weekend.

* Speaking of Vegas, here's a list of players going:

Position players: Elvis Andrus, Dusty Brown, Chris Robinson, Yorvit Torrealba, Luis Martinez, Nelson Cruz, Mitch Moreland, Julio Borbon, Leonys Martin, Adrian Beltre, Josh Hamilton, Ryan Strausborger, Renny Osuna, Guilder Rodriguez, Jared Prince, Elio Sarmiento, Joey Butler, Mike Bianucci, Leury Garcia, Matt Kata.

Pitchers: Mike Adams, Alexi Ogando, Derek Holland, Justin Miller, Matt Harrison, Roman Mendez, Mark Hamburger, Sean Green, Johan Yan, Tyler Tufts, Corey Young, Derek Hankins, Zach Jackson.
