Kevin Kouzmanoff doubled of Kelvin De La Cruz with two outs in the ninth to score the tying and winning runs as Kansas City walked off with a second straight victory over the Rangers, 7-6.
The Rangers led 6-1 as the lineup regulars knocked around Bruce Chen. Elvis Andrus went 3 for 3 and scored three runs, and Adrian Beltre went 3 for 3 with three RBIs as the Rangers collected 11 hits through the first four innings.
But the Royals started their rally in the fifth, scoring twice of left-hander Mitch Stetter, and added two more against lefty Neal Cotts in the sixth. They were down 6-5 entering the ninth, when Tanner Scheppers walked the first two hitters and Kelvin De La Cruz walked a third straight to load the bases. But De La Cruz got a double play with the infield in, but Kouzmanoff lined a double to the wall in left-center field.
Derek Holland worked the first two innings, allowing a run on three hits as he focused on located his off-speed pitches. Alexi Ogando followed with two scoreless innings, in which he retired six straight after walking his first batter.
The Rangers head to Scottsdale on Tuesday to face Arizona. Matt Harrison will make his Cactus League debut, and Yu Darvish will follow Wednesday at San Diego. Darvish's second spring start will be March 13 at Cleveland.
