Joe Beimel (elbow) will throw in an intrasquad game Monday after getting through live batting practice Saturday without any issues.
The Rangers have remained in contact with free-agent left-hander Michael Gonzalez. Gonzalez is represented by Scott Boras, who isn't afraid to hold back is veteran clients until a need develops. The Rangers are in need of a left-handed reliever. Michael Kirkman seems to be the front-runner for the job.
