Yu Darvish made his first appearance against big-league hitters Friday in an intrasquad game, and pitched a scoreless inning while facing four former All-Stars at the top of the Rangers' order.
Darvish threw 21 pitches/11 strikes to Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus, Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre.
Darvish fell behind Kinsler 3-0 but threw two straight strikes before getting a flyout to left field. Andrus also went to a full count before striking out.
Josh Hamilton followed, jumped ahead 3-0 and walked on five pitches. Darvish rebounded to get Beltre on a fielder's choice, throwing four strikes during the at-bat.
