Rangers planning to move Yu Darvish up in rotation?

The Rangers are considering a swap of left-hander Matt Harrison and right-hander Yu Darvish in the rotation order so that the club doesn't have lefties pitching in consecutive games.

Monday is an off day, which would allow the switch to happen without anyone having to pitch on short rest. The Rangers had considered splitting their lefties in spring training but decided that there wasn't much risk to opening the season with them going back-to-back as the No. 2 and No. 3 starters.

Holland is scheduled to pitch Wednesday at Boston, and Harrison would work Thursday at Detroit if no switch is made. They would work in back-to-back games to open a three-game series April 23 and 24 against New York.

Manager Ron Washington said that the decision will be discussed either tonight on the flight to Boston on on the off day.
