Josh Hamilton played in every game except the last one in April, and put up impressive numbers. He was a near-unanimous selection as the Rangers April Player of the Month as voted on by media members who cover the team regularly.
It's the fifth time Hamilton has been named player of the month (April and May of 2008 and June and July of 2010).
Hamilton hit .395 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs. The nine home runs matches a club record for April. He is also one of only eight players since 1921 to have at least nine home runs, 25 RBIs, 20 runs and 34 hits in April. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp did it this season, too.
