Mike Napoli delivered a three-run home run to break open a 1-1 game. It was the second home run for Napoli in as many days and he's starting to show signs of breaking out what had become a 3 for 25 slump.
"It's at-bat to at-bat," Napoli said. "Sometimes I feel good and sometimes I don't. I feel a little better than I did but I've got to keep working, keep my same routine and keep plugging away at it."
Manager Ron Washington agreed, saying it's difficult to say Napoli has broken out of his slump after two games.
Here are a few other postgame notes:
* Matt Harrison allowed two runs on seven hits over eight innings. He said he pounded the strike zone and was more aggressive. Harrison beat the Mariners for the second time in a week, and is now 8-1 with a 2.69 ERA over 11 career starts against them.
* Nelson Cruz had a solo home run in the second. He has hit safely in the first four games of the homestand, posting a .421 average.
* Joe Nathan worked around a one-out error to close out the ninth and earn his 11th save of the season. The error ended his streak of retiring 17 consecutive batters.
