Thursday's Rangers notes: Saturday starter still TBD

Manager Ron Washington wasn't ready to announce a starter for Saturday against Oakland. Tonight's game could have an impact on it, as Justin Grimm is available out of the bullpen.

Martin Perez is another candidate, and Michael Kirkman could get consideration after allowing two runs over five innings of long relief on Monday.

Perez made his debut on Wednesday, allowing four runs (one earned) over two-thirds of an inning.

Here are a few other notes:

* Derek Holland felt good the day-after his first rehab start. He has regained eight of the 15 pounds he lost, and felt no side effects from the left shoulder fatigue that forced him on the disabled list.

* Leonys Martin is starting in center field tonight, as the Oakland is starting a right-hander.

* Ron Washington received the players' All-Star selections today, and is currently working on putting the American League team together.
