Scott Feldman lost his sixth consecutive start, and has been the beneficiary of one or fewer runs in all of them. The Texas Rangers have the best offense in the major leagues, but have yet to back Feldman with it.
The defense also struggled behind Feldman on Thursday night, as the Diamondbacks went on to an 11-3 victory at Rangers Ballpark. The Rangers still won the series, 2-1, and open a three-game series against the 26-36 Houston Astros on Friday night.
Here are a few postgame notes:
* Mitch Moreland said he simply missed Miguel Montero's grounder that would have been the third out in the third inning. The error led to two unearned runs in the inning, as Lyle Overbay had a two-run double after the error. It was the first error of the season for Moreland. Scott Feldman said errors happen in baseball, and he needed to get the next guy out.
* Ian Kinsler declined comment on his ejection for arguing a called third strike by home plate umpire Eric Cooper in the third inning.
* David Murphy had a two-run home run in the seventh, his seventh blast of the season. He has homered in four of six interleague games.
* Adrian Beltre went 2 for 3, his 23rd multi-hit game of the season. He has hit safely in seven of the last eight games.
