Saturday is a big day on the rehab trail for Rangers pitchers. Colby Lewis (forearm), Neftali Feliz (elbow) and Alexi Ogando (groin) will all take to the mound for bullpen sessions that will likely be the last they throw before their immediate pitching futures are determined.
Lewis said that he won't need a rehab assignment. Feliz and Ogando are heading out, and could know as soon as Saturday where they will be going and for how long.
Koji Uehara (lat) threw a bullpen session today. He's nearing a rehab assignment, too. Mark Lowe (intercostal strain) hopes to begin playing catch next week when the second half opens in Seattle.
Mitch Moreland, formerly a pitcher, said that he is taking swings off a tee and jogging on a treadmill as he comes back from a hamstring injury. The first baseman's goal is to return as soon as poosible, but that would appear to be the end of the month.
Derek Holland won't be on a pitch count Saturday when he makes his first start since June 5 because of fatigue. He worked six innings at Triple A Round Rock on Monday.
