Mike Napoli followed up his first three-hit game in more than two months with his first two-homer game in more than three. The All-Star launched solo shots in his first two at-bats Saturday as the Rangers beat the Angels 9-2.
He hit Ervin Santana's first pitch of the second inning into the seats in right-center field, and took David Carpenter deep to left-center with one out in the third. He would finish the day 2-for-4 with a walk.
"I definitely feel better," said Napoli, who now has 14 homers. "I've been putting the work it, but it really wasn't carrying over into the game. I've been feeling a lot better these past two games with what I've been doing in the cage an BP."
He said the key has been relaxing, making sure his front side is staying in, and trying to make a good swing. He is 5-for-8 this series after opening the road trip 1-for-10.
