The Texas Rangers had eight players selected to the All-Star Game, the most in the major leagues. They also are showing off their farm system depth during the Midsummer festivities today with two prospects starting in the Futures Game.
Double A Frisco teammates Jurickson Profar and Mike Olt are in the starting lineups for the World Team and U.S. Team, respectively, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
Profar, a shortstop considered the team's top prospect, is making his second consecutive appearance. He went 1 for 2 with an RBI triple in last year's game.
"I'm looking forward to it, and am going to enjoy playing with the other great young players," Profar said after taking batting practice.
