It should come as no surprise that Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish is leading the Final Vote for the last spot on the American League All-Star team. What does rate as surprising is MLB saying that the lead is "slim."
No vote totals were provided, but the release from MLB says that nine of the 10 players from both leagues have surpassed one million votes. Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones leads in the National League.
Voting at mlb.com or via text messaging (for Darvish, text A2 to 89269) continues through 3 p.m. Thursday. Darvish is bidding to become the eighth Rangers player on the All-Star team this year.
