The Texas Rangers have gone with a three-man bench for three days, and plan to stay with that until after this road trip. They want to go back to a four-man bench, though, when the team returns home.
Manager Ron Washington said he'd prefer it be an infielder and top prospect Jurickson Profar is being discussed as a potential replacement, according to a club official.
Profar is the No. 1 prospect in the Rangers' farm system, and is the starting shortstop at Double A Frisco.
