Monday's Rangers notes: Young activated

Michael Young has been activated off the paternity list, and is back in the Texas Rangers' lineup tonight against Tampa Bay.

The Rangers designated infielder Luis Hernandez for assignment to clear a spot on the active roster.

Young said everybody is doing well since the birth of his third son, Antonio, and he is ready to get back in the swing of things. Young hasn't missed three consecutive games since September of 2009.

Here are a few other notes:

* Mike Napoli will run the bases today and, if all goes well, he could be ready for a medical rehabilitation assignment as early as Tuesday. Napoli also said he would likely catch Ryan Dempster's bullpen session this afternoon. The goal is for Napoli to be ready by Saturday when rosters expand, but that might not happen.

* Yu Darvish is scheduled to start Tuesday, and Ron Washington said there are no issues with the right groin strain that pushed Darvish's start back.

* Adrian Beltre won the American League player of the week honors, not surprisingly, after his three-homer game Wednesday and hitting for the cycle on Friday. Said Ron Washington: "It was about the best week I've ever seen."

* With Hurricane Isaac heading towards New Orleans, Ron Washington said he expects about 10-11 family members to make their way and stay at his home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this week.
