Adrian Beltre had a three-homer game and hit for the cycle last week and, not surprisingly, was named the American League's player of the week.
It's the third time Beltre has been honored in that regard in his career, and the first in the AL.
Beltre batted .433 with three doubles, one triple, five home runs, nine RBIs and seven runs scored. His three homer game came on Wednesday against Baltimore, and he hit for the cycle on Friday against Minnesota.
Other considerations included fellow Rangers Ian Kinsler (.407 average, two home runs, nine RBIs) and Mitch Moreland (.360, 2 HR, 10 RBI). Tampa Bay starter Alex Cobb and White Sox starter Chris Sale also had impressive weeks.
As the winner, Beltre will receive a watch courtesy of Game Time.
