Sunday's Twins-Rangers lineups: Mitch Moreland batting second

A variety of factors went into manager Ron Washington's decision to bat Mitch Moreland second in the Rangers' lineup as they try for four-game sweep of Minnesota. First up: Elvis Andrus is getting a day off, on his birthday no less. The usual candidate to fill-in the No. 2 spot when Andrus is off, Michael Young, is also off for one more day on the paternity list. That left Washington to choose from Geovany Soto, Craig Gentry, Luis Hernandez and Moreland, who got the nod because he's swinging a hot bat.

Twins lineup vs. RHP Scott Feldman: Denard Span, cf; Ben Revere, rf; Joe Mauer, 1b; Josh Willingham, lf; Justin Morneau, dh; Trevor Plouffe, 3b; Jamey Carroll, 2b; Drew Butera, c; Pedro Florimon, ss.

Rangers lineup vs. RHP Cole De Vries: Ian Kinsler, 2b; Mitch Moreland, 1b; Josh Hamilton, lf; Adrian Beltre, 3b; Nelson Cruz, rf; David Murphy, dh; Geovany Soto, c; Craig Gentry, cf; Luis Hernandez, ss.
