The Rangers have decided to skip Yu Darvish's next start Thrusday and push him back to Tuesday after the right-handed complained of tightness in his right quadriceps during his between-starts bullpen session.
Roy Oswalt will start the opener against Minnesota on normal rest after working Saturday at Toronto. He went 4 2/3 innings and wasn't pleased to be taken out one out shy of qualifying for a victory. The Rangers won 2-1.
Darvish issued a statement, saying that he doesn't not consider himself to be injured. He said that he and the coaching staff determined a few extra days of rest was the best course of action. Darvish first felt discomfort Tuesday toward the end of his bullpen session.
