Adrian Beltre took batting practice and fielded grounders at third base Thursday afternoon and declared himself fit to play after being out of the Rangers' original lineup because of intestinal pain. He still doesn't feel well, but he's good enough to be the designated hitter.
Josh Hamilton, though, is not playing. He tried to participate in pregame activities, but never even took batting practice. He will return to Texas and visit the team doctor Friday. He's likely not going to be available until Saturday at the earliest.
Jurickson Profar was the big loser in the Beltre return. He bows out of the lineup as the second baseman, and Ian Kinsler moves from DH to second.
