Adrian Beltre has pushed his way into the Texas Rangers lineup tonight, and will serve as the designated hitter.
Beltre exited Wednesday's game with a left shoulder strain, but an MRI today revealed no structural damage. He got through early batting practice with no issues, and convinced manager Ron Washington to put him in the lineup.
Originally, Washington had Ian Kinsler as the DH with Jurickson Profar getting a start at second base. Profar homered off Indians starter Zach McAllister in his first career at-bat earlier this month, but will now start tonight on the bench.
