Manager Ron Washington has deemed the key pieces of the Rangers' bullpen at full strength after giving late-inning stalwarts Mike Adams and Joe Nathan the weekend off.
Adams had been bothered by a sore right trapezoid muscle, and Nathan was given time to rest after blowing his second save fo the season Thursday. He later said that he might be going through a dead-arm phase.
Washington, though, said it was the Rangers' choice to give them the weekend off.
"This was us making sure he and Joe were good," Washington said.
Roy Oswalt (strained forearm) threw a bullpen session today. No report yet on how he came out of it. He was injured Sept. 9 in a start against Tampa Bay.
Mike Napoli will catch the first two games of the Angels series because he plays well at Angels Stadium, said Washington. Geovany Soto will catch Yu Darvish on Thursday and also the opener at Seattle on Friday.
