Mike Adams was relieved this afternoon after Texas Rangers physician Keith Meister looked over his MRI and diagnosed him with a mild cervical (neck) strain.
"Very good news," Adams said. "The shoulder checked out just fine. It's somewhat of a bulging disk in my neck."
Adams said he will meet with a nerve and spine doctor on Saturday morning to undergo further tests and come up with a rehab plan.
He wasn't going to set a target date for his return, but he should pitch again this year.
"I just want to get it right this time," said Adams, who missed a week earlier this month with right shoulder soreness.
