The Rangers will be without Josh Hamilton this weekend in Seattle after his sinus/equilibrium/vision problems showed no imnprovement Friday.
The five-time All-Star met with Rangers doctor David Hunter, but the results from tests performed during the visit have not come back. The Rangers decided to have him stay in Texas to recover rather than flying to Seattle to be with the team.
Hamilton attempted to shag flyballs and grounders Thursday at Angel Stadium after going through pregame stretching without any issues. But he became disoriented during the fielding drills, at one point nearly falling to the ground. After he misjudged a flyball and completely missed it, he left the field.
Spotted at John Wayne Airport near Anaheim on Friday morning, Hamilton said that he had hoped to join the team this weekend.
Adrian Beltre will not play Friday after undergoing gastro-intestinal tests this morning in Los Angeles. He is scheduled to fly to Seattle later Friday, and the Rangers expect that he will play Saturday. The results from his tests are also pending, but the Rangers said that Beltre is feeling better.
