SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Elvis Andrus has a new tattoo and, after spending nine hours under a needle over the past two days, needs a day off with what the Rangers have called "sensitivity in left arm."
Andrus' tattoo is in memory of his father, Emilio Andrus, who passed away when Elvis was 7-years-old in 1996. It covers the majority of his upper left arm, featuring a picture of his dad. Around the photo are pictures of a track shoe, basketball and baseball as his father played all of those sports. There is also a bear claw near the bottom, as Andrus' father started a little league team named the Bears that are still around today.
"A little sore right now, but I'll be good to go tomorrow and Saturday," Andrus said. "But it's a memory of my dad. I'm really proud that it's going to be on myself forever."
Asked if he'd get another tattoo, Andrus smiled and said: "I'm done with this ... too much pain."
