SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Matt Harrison has been scratched from his start today with inflammation on his second toe of his left foot.
Harrison will fly back to Dallas-Fort Worth on Monday, and have it evaluated by Dr. John Crates. Harrison believes he just needs a more customized orthodic to relieve the discomfort.
"It's just minor," Harrison said. "There's no tear or anything, just inflammation."
Harrison said he feels it during his delivery and simply doesn't want it to become a bigger issue than it is. This injury is not related to the turf toe he had in his big toe on his left foot back in 2007.
In other injury news:
* Kyle McClellan (left shoulder soreness) will throw live batting practice today. If all goes well, he could be cleared for game action.
* Colby Lewis, recovering from flexor tendon surgery in his right elbow, is scheduled to throw his second bullpen session on Sunday. Joakim Soria (Tommy John elbow surgery) will throw a bullpen Sunday, as well.
* Mitch Moreland has been scratched from today's game with right quad tightness. It's not considered serious, but the Rangers don't want to risk it with wet playing conditions expected today.
