Rangers Matt Harrison likely out until after All-Star break

Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison is scheduled to undergo surgery on a herniated disc in his back on Tuesday, and is not expected to return until after the All-Star break, president of baseball operations/GM Jon Daniels said.

Harrison was placed on the disabled list with a sore back and injections he received for it have not worked out. The team and Harrison decided back surgery was the best route at this point.

The rotation will remain as is for now with Justin Grimm and Nick Tepesch, Daniels said.
