Nolan Ryan's son, Reid Ryan, reportedly heading to Astros

According to multiple reports out of the Houston area, Reid Ryan is set to become the Houston Astros president.

Reid Ryan is the son of Texas Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan, and president and CEO of Ryan-Sanders Baseball, which owns the Rangers' Triple A affiliate, the Round Rock Express. Ryan-Sanders Baseball also runs the Astros' Double A affiliate, the Corpus Christi Hooks.

Reid Ryan has not commented yet, but an official announcement is expected Friday, according to the Houston Chronicle. The position came open when George Postolos resigned Monday.

Reid Ryan brings more than his last name to the Astros, as the Express led the Pacific Coast League in attendance last season, averaging 8,389, and the Hooks were second in the Texas League, averaging 5,556.

This move could open up more speculation as to Nolan Ryan's future with the Rangers. It could also have a ripple down effect as to how it impacts the future of the Express with the Rangers. But both sides reached a four-year extension last fall, which took them through the 2018 season.
