TORONTO – Alexi Ogando is the latest to join the Texas Rangers ever-growing injury report.
Ogando had his bullpen session cut short on Friday with biceps soreness, and he is now questionable to make his scheduled start Monday against the Indians.
“I felt it a little bit [in my bullpen],” Ogando said.
Ogando spent about three weeks on the disabled list with right biceps tendinitis last month, and has made only one start since being activated. He allowed one run on three hits over 5 2/3 innings against Boston on Wednesday.
With Ogando’s start in question and the bullpen taxed after an 18-inning game Saturday, the Rangers scratched Josh Lindblom from his scheduled start Saturday for Triple A Round Rock.
Depending on Ogando’s situation, Lindblom could be held back as a spot starter for Monday. Or he could join the team today and provide a fresh arm in the bullpen. Kyle McClellan is another option to reinforce the bullpen.
