Sunday's Royals-Rangers lineups: Elvis Andrus in, Adrian Beltre out

Shortstop Elvis Andrus wasn't in the original Rangers lineup Sunday, but went into manager Ron Washington's office and came out as the club's leadoff hitter for the finale against Kansas City. Andrus has been dealing with some soreness in his back but said that he came to the ballpark today feeling fine and was ready to play. His successful lobbying effort cost Leury Garcia a start.

Adrian Beltre (left hamstring strain) is not in the lineup, but Washington expects him back during the Boston series. Jeff Baker plays third base, and Geovany Soto gives A.J. Pierzynski a breather behind the plate.

Royals lineup vs. RHP Yu Darvish: Alex Gordon, lf; Alcides Escobar, ss; Eric Hosmer, 1b; Billy Butler, dh; Mike Moustakas, 3b; Lorenzo Cain, cf; Jeff Francoeur, rf; George Kottaras, c; Chris Getz, 2b.

Rangers lineup vs. RHP Ervin Santana: Elvis Andrus, ss; David Murphy, lf; Lance Berkman, dh; Nelson Cruz, rf; Mitch Moreland, 1b; Jeff Baker, 3b; Geovany Soto, c; Craig Gentry, cf; Jurickson Profar, 2b.
