Final update on Rangers and the All-Star voting

Major League Baseball has released a final balloting update regarding the American League All-Star team. No Rangers player is leading his respective position, but fans can vote until 10:59 p.m. Thursday online at MLB.com.

Lance Berkman is the only Rangers player in second at his position, but he is well behind Boston's David Ortiz at designated hitter. Nelson Cruz is sixth in outfield voting, but is only about 400,000 votes behind Toronto's Jose Bautista, who is in third place.

Manager Ron Washington mentioned Cruz specifically as a player who he feels should be at the Mid-Summer Classic. Washington also believes relievers Joe Nathan, Tanner Scheppers and Robbie Ross should get strong consideration.

The teams will be announced at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday on Fox.
