Nelson Cruz exits with bruised left quad

ARLINGTON -- Nelson Cruz left Tuesday's game with a bruised left quad.

He was hit by a throw near first base in the third inning, as he hustled out a grounder to avoid a double play. Cruz stayed in the game, though, until he drew a two-out walk in the eighth inning. He was then pulled for pinch-runner Engel Beltre.

Cruz leads the team with 24 home runs and 71 RBIs, but has been linked to the Biogenesis of America scandal that could lead to a suspension in the coming days.
