White Sox 5, Rangers 2 (F)

CHICAGO -- John Danks allowed two runs in six innings Sunday, and his brother, Jordan, hit one of the two homers off Matt Garza as the White Sox won 5-2 and kept the Rangers from gaining ground in the American League West.

The Rangers’ lead after losing 2 of 3 weekend games at U.S. Cellular Field is 2 ½ games over Oakland, which lost at Baltimore. Next up for the Rangers is a trip to Seattle, which has won five of the past seven games in the season series.

The Rangers’ only two runs came on a two-run homer by Jeff Baker in the fourth. The homer, his second of the series, tied the game at 2-2 after the White Sox had scored twice in the third after Craig Gentry dropped a flyball in center field.

Jordan Danks, a midgame injury substitution, put Chicago back in the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer, and the White Sox scored single runs in the sixth and the seventh.

Josh Phegley, who won the game Saturday with a walk-off single in the ninth, homered off Garza to start the seventh.

The Rangers went 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position and twice saw threats with runners at third end on Adrian Beltre double plays. Jeff Keppinger picked off a sinking liner in the fifth and tagged third base to double off Elvis Andrus, and Keppinger started a 5-4-3 double play to end a bases-loaded threat in the seventh.
