Rangers move Saturday game to 11:05 a.m.

The Rangers have moved first pitch for Saturday from 7:05 p.m. to 11:05 a.m. because of the threat of inclement weather.

Fox Sports Southwest will televise the game, and gates to Rangers Ballpark will open at 9:30 a.m.

The possibility of a tiebreaker Monday to get into the postseason helped lead to the decision to move Saturday's game.

The Rangers were fearful that rain would postpone the game until Sunday and force a split doubleheader.

Under that scenario, the Rangers would have to fly overnight to Cleveland to play 7 p.m. game Monday to break a tie for the second wild-card spot.

The hope is that the possibility of a rainout and a Sunday doubleheader on the final day of the regular season have been eliminated by changing Saturday's schedule.

The Rangers trail Tampa Bay by two games in the wild-card standings with three to go, and trail the Indians by one game.

The Rangers believe that they need to sweep their final three games against Anaheim, and need Cleveland to lose once to Minnesota in order to force a game Monday to determine the second wild-card team.
