The Texas Rangers' annual Fan Fest is returning to The Ballpark in Arlington.
The team announced that the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the stadium, as part of the 20th anniversary of the facility.
More than 30 former and current players are scheduled to attend. The event will feature things such as question-and-answer sessions with Rangers executives, players and announcers; on-field events such as running the bases, bullpen toss and catching pop-ups; pitching, hitting and fielding clinics conducted by Rangers coaches and alumni; free tours of the Rangers clubhouse and dugout; and free play in the Kids Zone.
Tickets are on sale at texasrangers.com or by calling 972-726-4377. The event costs $10 for adults, $8 for season ticket holders and $5 for children 13 and younger. A limited number of autograph fast passes, which guarantee the holders every autorgraph for every player who will be participating in the formal autograph sessions on Saturday, are $300 per pass (Fan Fest tickets not included).
Parking at Rangers Ballpark is free.
A.J. Pierzynski has been named the recipient of the 2013 Harold McKinney Good Guy Award by the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Other winners from this past season include Adrian Beltre (player of the year), Yu Darvish (pitcher of the year) and Martin Perez (rookie of the year).
