Rangers to announce naming rights partner for the Ballpark

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will have a new name for next season and beyond, the team announced in a news release late Tuesday night.

The release did not provide further details, but more will be known during an 11 a.m. news conference at the Ballpark.

When the stadium opened in April of 1994, it was called The Ballpark in Arlington. From May 7, 2004 until March 18, 2007, the stadium was named Ameriquest Field in Arlington as part of an agreement between the team and Ameriquest Mortgage Company.

The agreement ended prior to the 2007 season when Ameriquest backed out of a 20-year committment. The stadium was then renamed to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
