The finished product from Tiger Woods’ return to Colonial Country Club will be evident Wednesday.
Nike Golf officials announced today that their new commercial, entitled “The Good Life” and celebrating the return of Tiger Woods to PGA Tour competition, will debut Wednesday. The 60-second spot will air for the first time on The Golf Channel, immediately preceding Woods’ first tee shot in his opening match at the Accenture Match Play Championship. The commercial will continue to run through Sunday on The Golf Channel, ESPN and ESPN News.
Filmed in November at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, the humorous, satirical spot features other Nike-sponsored golfers celebrating their recent successes at tour events _ accompanied by the song Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows _ until Woods walks into the locker room for the final scene. Other featured tour competitors include Stewart Cink, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Carl Petterssen and Masters champ Trevor Immelman.
In a statement, Woods said: “We had a great time shooting the spot together. We had a lot of laughs. I’m now ready to play again.”
Woods’ commercial shoot marked his first visit to the venue for Fort Worth’s annual tour stop, the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, since he competed in the Colonial tournament in 1997.
In addition to running during this week’s telecasts, the spot will be posted online at www.nikegolf.com.
