Of the top 16 names on the Masters leaderboard at the conclusion of today's final round, you can expect to see 12 of them next month at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Angel Cabrera, the Masters champ, plays primarily on the European Tour and would loom as a longshot to show up in Fort Worth during Colonial week because the dates (May 25-31) conflict with a high-profile stretch events of events in late May on the European Tour.
But the other two participants in today's playoff, Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry, already are on the Colonial commitment list. So is defending Colonial champ Phil Mickelson, who finished fifth at the Masters.
Other golfers who finished among the top 16 at the Masters that I'd expect to see at Colonial -- based on past playing history or a standing commitment -- include John Merrick, Steve Flesch, Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan, Sean O'Hair, Jim Furyk, Tim Clark, Geoff Ogilvy and Todd Hamilton.
