Steve Stricker said he hasn't been totally disappointed in his putting lately. It just hasn't brought him the results he's hoped for. Well, that changed today. Stricker made eight birdies, and most of them were around the 20-foot range, en route to his 7-under par 63 performance.
He said he's been working on it entering this tournament, and so far it's paid off. He also said he sees the fairways firming up these next few days, but not the greens. That will certainly keep the good scores coming, and it shouldn't hurt Stricker's chances, either.
Glad I'll be here early tomorrow morning to see how he responds to today's round.
