Jordan Spieth, the reigning U.S. Junior Amateur champion from Dallas, has accepted a sponsor’s exemption to compete in the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship, May 17-23 in Irving.
Spieth, a junior at Dallas Jesuit, will be making his PGA Tour debut at the event. Spieth will be the first amateur to compete at the Nelson since 1995 and only the fourth since 1993. Past amateur exemptions have gone to Trip Kuehne (1995), Justin Leonard (1993) and Tiger Woods (1993)
