Four tournament winners from the 2010 PGA Tour, including defending champion Steve Stricker, have committed to compete in the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, tournament officials announced today.
In addition, two reigning major champions have joined the field for the May 24-30 event in Fort Worth: U.S. Open champ Lucas Glover and British Open winner Stewart Cink. Other 2010 winners on the commitment list include Tarrant County residents Ben Crane and Ryan Palmer, as well as Dustin Johnson.
Stricker, the No. 2 player in the world golf rankings, is the highest-rated player in the Colonial field and one of two top-10 golfers on the commitment list. Jim Furyk, ranked No. 5 in the world rankings, also has pledged to compete.
Other Tarrant County golfers in the field include Mark Brooks, Jason Day, Hunter Mahan, John Rollins and Rory Sabbatini, the 2007 Colonial champ who also won the 2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship.
