Josh Teater and Chris Tidland have been given Champions’ Choice exemptions to compete at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, tournament officials announced today.
The exemptions are extended each year to promising newcomers on the PGA Tour, with recipients voted on by past Colonial winners. Both golfers will be making their Colonial debuts at the May 24-30 event in Fort Worth.
Teater, 31, is a PGA Tour rookie who finished seventh on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list. His best finish during the 2010 season is a tie for fifth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Tidland, 37, is a former Oklahoma State golfer who earned his 2010 tour card by finishing sixth on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list. His best PGA Tour finish this season is a tie for ninth at the Honda Classic in March. Tidland was a member of Oklahoma State’s 1995 NCAA championship team.
