Two golfers with local connections have earned special recognition from the Northern Texas PGA.
Stuart Deane, PGA teaching professional at Sinclair’s Golf Training Center in Euless, won the 2010 Ben Hogan/NTPGA Stroke Play Average Award. Deane, an Arlington resident, finished the season with the lowest scoring average (71.00) among competitors at the NTPGA’s four major stroke-play events.
Lindy Miller, an Aledo resident and former head golf professional at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth, won the Senior Division of the NTPGA Player of the Year points challenge. Miller, an Arlington Heights High School graduate who has earned $12,000 in two appearances on the 2010 Champions Tour, finished with a season-high 325 points, including a victory at the E-Z Go/UST Mamiya Eastern Championship.
